Introduction
Welcome to the May/June 2011 IIS Community
Newsletter. I'm combining May and June IIS Community
Newsletter. I
recently moved my Blog to a new domain, it took a bit longer than
expected. :) If you follow my blog, the new link is

Thanks to the Admins
at http://weblogs.asp.net, I've been able to retain my prior blog
links. It has been quite an adventure migrating to
Orchard CMS. If you have an article, tips/tricks, usergroup
that involves IIS or related technologies. Feel free to drop us a
line at

Product Highlight
I recently stood up a new server and
used Web Platform installer 3.0. I've tried prior versions
with mixed success. WPI 3.0 made identifying and installing
various components super simple.
Web Platform Installer 3.0
The Microsoft Web Platform Installer 3.0 (Web
PI) is a free tool that makes getting the latest components of the
Microsoft Web Platform, including Internet Information Services
(IIS), SQL Server Express, .NET Framework and Visual Web Developer
easy. The Web PI also makes it easy to install and run the most
popular free web applications for blogging, content management and
more.

One of my favorite methods interacting with the
community is answering questions on discussion forums. It's
amazing the questions posted and it's an opportunity to learn
something too! Here are a couple tidbits posted by IIS Team
